Another Wonderful Day with a lovely group of Internet friends... and our 14th Kambrachallenge Revelations.

Trying to get a photo of us all behaving ourselves is difficult though :-)

Brenda - Something you always wanted to make.

By the time Show and Tell came around this was all that was left of Brenda's wonderful 'Fairy Cakes'.

Thankfully she took a photo before we arrived!

Erica - 2012 Something you always wanted to make.

Erica crocheted this lovely soft warm rug.

Ruth - 2012 Something you always wanted to make.

When visiting Kathryn Sheehan's apartment in the City one time, Ruth took photos of the buildings and skyline from the window... her quilt depicts the view. Wonderful stuff eh!

Michelle - 2012 Something you always wanted make.

A beautiful crocheted rug... Wow!

Lyn - 2012 Something you always wanted to make.

Lyn made this lovely quilt for a young child.

Nola - 2012 Something you always wanted to make.

Nola wanted to perfect this bag pattern, not only does it have pockets for all sorts of things including a mobile phone it also has a plastic for her wet umbrella. Brilliant! Not only that Nola dyed the fabrics.

Loz - 2012 Something you always wanted to make.

Loz made a large Hexagon Christmas Quilt.

Pennie - 2012 Something you have always wanted to make.

I've always wanted to make a Penny Rug... so I did... I made a 'Pennie Rug' and I just love it!

Stephanie - 2012 - Something you have always wanted to make.

Stephanie spent most of today arriving back from her European trip so couldn't make it today but she sent me this photo of what's to come... Wow!

Kambrachallenge History.

1999 - Calypso by Jennifer Sampou.
Pennie and Kathryn H. buy the same pack of fabrics in Canberra. While we were admiring and fondling them Kathryn said we wouldn't be able to put all the fabrics in the same quilt, those words to Pennie were a... Challenge!
2000 - Basic Essentials by Jennifer Sampou.
During the Canberra Quilt Show a group of SCQuilters loved the results of the 'Calypso Challenge' so decided to buy another pack of fabrics and the 'Kambrachallenge' was under way properly. Those who joined that day were Brenda, Kathryn S., Maggie, Nola, Michelle, Ruth and Wendy.
Deciding the Challenge - The choice for the next challenge was very fraught, nine quilters in a shop all trying to decide which fabric pack to choose does not make for a happy decision so as a last resort a collection of Belle France was chosen.
2001 - Belle France.
Joining us this year was Betty.
This is the first year that groans and complaints were to be heard so after the revelations we decided to put all our names into a hat and asked the Waitress to pull one out.
2002 - Stripes - chosen by Betty.
Joining us this year were Jenny, Kate, Lyn, Robyn and Stephanie.
2003 - Red and White - chosen by Kathryn H.
Joining us this year were Donna and Loz.
We now numbered 16 and decided to 'Close' the Group.
As most of our members lived at least 3 hours drive from Sydney we decided to hold our Revelations half way... in Mittagong.
2004 - Seminole - chosen by Kathryn S.
This was the first time we decided to meet at Pennie's home, she had room for sleep overs and that's what the Canberra group have continued to do.
2005 - Circles - chosen by Loz.
2006 - From your Stash/On the Body - Jenny and Kate.
Before the Revelations I decided to make an Executive Decision and go back to packs of fabrics so asked Michelle to choose some fabrics for the next challenge.After we received our fabrics from Michelle for the 2007 challenge we decided to pull a name out of the hat for the following challenge and give that person 12 months to decide.
2007 - Red, Black and Cream - chosen by Michelle.
Stephanie's name was pulled from the bus tin.
2008 - This is your Life - chosen by Stephanie.
This year we invited Erica, Lisa and Nic to join us which boosted our numbers to 18.
Wendy's name was pulled out of the tin for the 2009 Challenge.
2009 - Bali Watercolours - chosen by Wendy.
Donna's name was pulled out of the bus tin for next years Challenge.
2010 - Pink hand dyes with one other fabric - chosen by Donna.
Brenda's name was pulled out of the tin for the 2011 Challenge
2011 - Kaffe Fassett - Asian Circles - Chosen by Brenda
Lyn's name was pulled out of the tin for 2012.
2012 - Make 'THE Something' you have always wanted to make, something you have been inspired by in a magazine or book or photo and bring along the Inspiration with your 'Something'.
Ruth's name was pulled out of the tin for the 2012 Challenge.
